A Hawaiian Babymoon

You can always tell how crazy our lives have been by the lengthy breaks between blogs. 😉 June has been slightly insane, and we’ve got another few weeks of life being pretty busy, but I wanted to catch up while I have the chance!

I imagine everyone who visits Hawaii thinks at one time, What if I lived here?? We pondered that frequently on our little babymoon. We spent six days on the island of Kauai soaking up every ounce of sunshine. And can I brag really quick at how adult we are because our pale little bodies did not get one single sunburn!

I took roughly 2,000 photos, so we’re going to narrow that down to 70-ish and knock it all out in one post because I’m lazy. 😝

I love a good waterfall.

A must do if you go to Kauai is Waimea Canyon.

This is my favorite spot on Kauai. It feels so magical!

That tiny speck in the distance above the middle left of the mountain is a helicopter.

When we booked our babymoon, I was afraid I would be too big to fit in a swimsuit. I’m still waiting on that bump to look more pregnant than “she must have just had a large meal.”

A Hawaii onesie for baby!

If you’re looking for a good hotel in Kauai that won’t break the bank, check out the Courtyard by Marriott. The staff is great, rooms are nice, and it’s affordable. And it’s surrounded by palm trees and ocean and good food.

We are very passionate about hotel breakfasts.

One of our nights was spent on a catamaran with Captain Andy’s for a sunset tour of the Na Pali Coast. It was soooo awesome, even though I got pretty queasy on the ride back. Haha.

Rainbows everywhere.

Balcony view. 👌🏼

I wear this dress a lot because it shows off the bump the best. 😉

Another must do and one of our favorite places is Hanalei Bay. The weather was PERFECT.

He. Is. So. Cute.

He loves boogie boarding so much. 😊

My other favorite spot in Kauai is Kountry Kitchen, home of pancakes bigger than your face.

Look how happy he is hahaha.

The first time I felt baby move was right after this pancake. 😂

One of our favorite activities was our tubing tour with Backcountry Adventures that took us through some old irrigation tunnels in Lihue. I wish I had video or pictures from the ride, but YouTube it if you’re bored. 😉

Apparently only 20% of the people who live on Kauai get to see this view because it’s a private road owned by the company.

The whitest people. 😂

Our last day and a half was spent soaking up every second at the coolest hotel we’ve ever stayed at – the Kauai Marriott Resort. This is the dreamy road that leads to the parking lot.

Escalator to the lobby? Ok.

VIEW FROM OUR ROOM. Yes. Absolutely worth every penny.

Before we checked in, we ate a place on the hotel site called Duke’s.

Andrew said the burger was amazing, but he was most in love with this “hula pie” that we got for free since we were “celebrating.” Lol.

The hotel comes with its own mini mountain and beach. Haha.

Good view, good book.

We spent our last night having a fancy dinner at a place that I didn’t dare try to pronounce. Hukilau Lanai.

My favorite thing in the world might be patio hotel breakfasts with this looker.

Last day faces.

But we spent all of it at the pool and beach. 🙌🏼

Alright, Annie. We have to wait to go on another adventure until you join us, so hurry up, kid. 😉

Happy weekend, friends! ❤️

Real Life

Let’s be real.

One of our suitcases sits still unpacked on the living room floor, mocking me and my laziness. (To be fair, we’ve had some kind of event or party pretty much every day since getting home.)

My appetite has definitely returned, and I polished off three bags of Famous Amos cookies in one afternoon this week. And PANCAKES are back in my regular routine again! 🙌🏼

I’ve had random fits of uncontrollable, hormonal tears ever since finding out it’s a girl and not the boy I thought it was. (We love her, I promise. 😜 Haha.) Mamas who’ve been there, ease my guilt and give me your wisdom! Lol.

Andrew has done WAY more laundry, dishes, and housework than me the past three months. He also brings me orange juice (or chocolate milk) and my prenatal vitamin in bed every morning because he’s a rockstar husband. 💪🏼

My belly is at that stage where strangers have to stare for a second and wonder if I’m pregnant or just tubby. Some days I think about wearing a pin that says, “I’m pregnant. Please feed me or give me free things.”

There are roughly 10,000 photos on my computer that need to be edited in the next month. 😬 Is it October yet??

The day after we got back from Hawaii, I slept until 11:00 AND took a nap at 3:00.

The employees at Johnny Carino’s all know me now, and when I called after getting home from our trip, the curbside guy answered, “Back from your vacation??”

I re-gifted a gift card without checking the back to see if it had my name on it because pregnancy brain is real. 🙃

We are already planning a family trip to Disney World for late 2018, and we’re forcing our parents to come so they can hold baby while we ride Space Mountain. 😉 I have a feeling Annie’s really going to connect with Animal Kingdom.

I had a dream earlier this week that I was searching for a lost narwhal with Tim Allen. 🤔

My decision-making ability of what to purchase and what to put back at TJ Maxx requires an absurd amount of time – like 20 minutes worth of holding things in my hand and staring at them until I can decide.

My go-to mode used to be researching and planning things like a madwoman, but lately it’s been “eh, I’ll figure it out.” I have got to find motivation to read a parenting book or something!

I wish I was still here and not blogging quickly before heading in to work. 😉

Great book by the way.

I’ll post more Hawaii pics and catch up on everything when I have a little more time. 😊 Happy Wednesday, friends!

2016 in Review

We spent the last day of 2016 cleaning, eating, planning, and hanging with family. Today we started the year off at church, followed by a fabulous lunch at Longhorn, and then a 2.5 mile walk to burn a few calories because we just had Andy’s ice cream for dinner. It was our “last meal” before we’re back to dieting for quite a while. 😉

I love the fresh start of January. It feels new and clean and full of opportunity. 2016 was quite peculiar, but it was certainly full of adventure! Here’s a little look back at the craziness.

We obviously made Cheesecake Factory a priority. (I must confess that we now are back to being more obsessed with Longhorn though because I discovered their parmesan crusted chicken.)

We celebrated Wormy turning 18 by taking a trip to Disney World.

Let’s remember that this picture of Alyssa hiding from the dinosaur ride happened. 😂

We captured endless perfect pictures of Henry and his cuteness.

And this GIF was created.

My Super Bowl snack stadium made us all fat.

Andrew and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and got fatter. 🌴

We rode the “Leap of Faith” ride at Atlantis that slides through sharks, and it was terrifying.

And before heading home, we spontaneously spent Valentine’s Day at Disney World. 💕

We took Handsome Hank to the zoo, and my heart exploded.

I turned 26 and consoled myself at Lambert’s. 🍞

And at Papa Angelo’s.

And Cheesecake Factory.

My favorite little nephew turned 1!

And he discovered the glory of cake.

We celebrated Easter with loads of cute family.

Andrew turned 27, and we partied at Main Event.

These cutie pies graduated in May!

We also celebrated 5 years of marriage in May…with heart-shaped pancakes. ❤️

And with a fancy dinner at Vast!

Side note – have I mentioned my baby sister works there now!?

Aaand we kept celebrating in Colorado…with more pancakes. 😉

We fed a tiger at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. 😍

And some giraffes. 😊

We took anniversary pictures in the Garden of the Gods. ❤️

We had Mother’s Day Brunch at our house with all our favorite people.

These handsome boys met for the first time. 😍

Henry gave us more hilarious / adorable pictures.

Several date nights occurred. ☺️

We took a Boswell family trip to Lambert’s.

We watched Independence Day on Independence Day.

I brunched with these beauties at Flint. 💕

Andrew and I tried out “Favorites Days.”

I got to snuggle a tiger on my Favorites Day.

And a snake.

And a lemur.

And a beautiful pizza. 😂

Tanner and Gabby got engaged, and it was magical. 😍

Jack had surgery on his rump, and it was dreadful.

His face in the cone of shame broke our hearts. Haha.

We road tripped like maniacs all the way to Philadelphia.

Andrew tried his first cheesesteak.

We then journeyed up to Ocean City, New Jersey to have some family vaca time.

We took the ferry to New York City.

Good gosh, I miss that pizza.

And this perfect Serendipity ice cream sundae.

On the way home, we hit Washington, D.C. because I love my husband.

Andrew’s nerd out was adorable.

When we got home, the cone of shame was removed and Jack was back to his happy, hilarious self.

We lived it up a few weeks later in Disney World (again) over Labor Day!

Our ride photos are the best ever.

Thank God for dollar store ponchos.

Dad turned 60, and we had all the foods and all the parties. 🎉

Andy’s Frozen Custard entered our lives and changed us forever.

There were not nearly enough best friend dates, but the ones we had were full of so much laughter!

We went back to Colorado in October.

And it was perfect, of course.

There were lots and lots of snuggles. ❤️

We had a perfect work party at Longhorn with these stellar people.

We Thanksgiving-ed.

And we Christmas-ed. 🎄

I created my favorite planner yet 🙌🏼 (more on that to come).

And we rang in 2017 with these crazies. 😉

The year was crazy, but God is so good to us. Hope you all are having a wonderful start to 2017! 💕
