The Overwhelming Summer

I thought being pregnant would get me out of a lot more, but it turns out I’m just as busy and life is just as crazy. ๐Ÿ™ƒ We’ve been running 100 MPH, and I’m just briefly emerging from the chaos before it starts back up again. My multi-tasking brain is out of hand, and I’ve been working my butt off the last couple months. And pregnancy brain? It’s real.

BUT HEY GOOD NEWS. I’ll have a baby ๐Ÿ˜ณ in just 3 months, and that’ll give me a great excuse to end the busy, right? ๐Ÿ˜

Let’s play catch up on the last few weeks – they’ve been full of crazy, but full of fun!

Andrew is very excited (like, tears-in-his-eyes-excited) that a Potbelly’s has finally graced Oklahoma. This one is on NW Expressway, but we’re getting another one just 15 minutes away soon!

Sweet baby Boswell has graciously allowed me to return to chocolate, particularly chocolate-chip pancakes. PRAISE.

We had a blast celebrating my new sister at her bachelorette party! Gabby is officially a BOSWELL! ๐Ÿ’•ย (Keep scrolling for wedding pics.)

These girls are SO much fun.

We rehearsed with perfect weather. โค๏ธ

My mom-in-law knows how to throw a party. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

The best maid of honor and best man ever. ๐Ÿ˜ย Their speeches had us all in tears and giggles.

Baby Annie rocked her first wedding. ๐Ÿ’•

Prettiest little bride!!!

All hail Mom-in-law’s skills.

It was so fun to be a bridesmaid with this cutie co-worker!

So. Much. Fun.

So proudย to call this looker mine. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜

The week after the wedding was spent working a bunch, but we had a visit from baby Goldie Jane! ๐Ÿ’•

This hunk and I celebrated 10 years of dating last month. HOLY COW. We went back to our first date and reminisced at Steve’s Rib. ๐Ÿ˜Š

This is the exact face Jack gives Andrew every single day when he comes home from work until he takes him outside to play. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I passed my glucose test…

…by bringing my Mama for moral support.

We celebrated with pizza, of course. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Let me continue the feast photos by quickly plugging Longhorn Steakhouse yet again. The chicken and steak combo was sent directly from God.

We partied with family to celebrate Brad’s birthday and Pop-Pop’s 90th birthday!

My sweet Mom-Mom (who Annie is being named after) gave us this perfect little book. If you haven’t read it, grab a box of tissues before you do. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

We watch Independence Day every 4th of July. I never regret it. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

We had perfect walking weather on the 4th too!

I didn’t think I’d do fireworks this year, but turns out my pregnancy is pretty darn easy aside from the bathroom breaks. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Haha.

We also celebrated Andrew’s grandma turning 87! Sweetest thing.

And I finally got to catch up with these beautiful besties. They make me laugh so much! โค๏ธ

I’ll post an update on baby’s nursery soon, but here’s a quick preview. Lol. (Still 95% sure Jack has no clue.)

Happy Thursday, friends! ๐Ÿ˜„

A Hawaiian Babymoon

You can always tell how crazy our lives have been by the lengthy breaks between blogs. ๐Ÿ˜‰ June has been slightly insane, and we’ve got another few weeks of life being pretty busy, but I wanted to catch up while I have the chance!

I imagine everyone who visits Hawaii thinks at one time,ย What if I lived here?? We pondered that frequently on our little babymoon. We spent six days on the island of Kauai soaking up every ounce of sunshine. And can I brag really quick at how adult we are because our pale little bodies did not get one single sunburn!

I took roughly 2,000 photos, so we’re going to narrow that down to 70-ish and knock it all out in one post because I’m lazy. ๐Ÿ˜

I love a good waterfall.

A must do if you go to Kauai is Waimea Canyon.

This is my favorite spot on Kauai. It feels so magical!

That tiny speck in the distance above the middle left of the mountain is a helicopter.

When we booked our babymoon, I was afraid I would be too big to fit in a swimsuit. I’m still waiting on that bump to look more pregnant than “she must have just had a large meal.”

A Hawaii onesie for baby!

If you’re looking for a good hotel in Kauai that won’t break the bank, check out the Courtyard by Marriott. The staff is great, rooms are nice, and it’s affordable. And it’s surrounded by palm trees and ocean and good food.

We are very passionate about hotel breakfasts.

One of our nights was spent on a catamaran with Captain Andy’s for a sunset tour of the Na Pali Coast. It was soooo awesome, even though I got pretty queasy on the ride back. Haha.

Rainbows everywhere.

Balcony view. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

I wear this dress a lot because it shows off the bump the best. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Another must do and one of our favorite places is Hanalei Bay. The weather was PERFECT.

He. Is. So. Cute.

He loves boogie boarding so much. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My other favorite spot in Kauai is Kountry Kitchen, home of pancakes bigger than your face.

Look how happy he is hahaha.

The first time I felt baby move was right after this pancake. ๐Ÿ˜‚

One of our favorite activities was ourย tubing tour with Backcountry Adventuresย that took us through some old irrigation tunnels in Lihue. I wish I had video or pictures from the ride, but YouTube it if you’re bored. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Apparently only 20% of the people who live on Kauai get to see this view because it’s a private road owned by the company.

The whitest people. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Our last day and a half was spent soaking up every second at the coolest hotel we’ve ever stayed at – the Kauai Marriott Resort. This is the dreamy roadย that leads to the parking lot.

Escalator to the lobby? Ok.

VIEW FROM OUR ROOM. Yes. Absolutely worth every penny.

Before we checked in, we ate a place on the hotel site called Duke’s.

Andrew said the burger was amazing, but he was most in love with this “hula pie” that we got for free since we were “celebrating.” Lol.

The hotel comes with its own mini mountain and beach. Haha.

Good view, good book.

We spent our last night having a fancy dinner at a place that I didn’t dare try to pronounce. Hukilau Lanai.

My favorite thing in the world might be patio hotel breakfasts with this looker.

Last day faces.

But we spent all of it at the pool and beach.ย ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Alright, Annie. We have to wait to go on another adventure until you join us, so hurry up, kid. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy weekend, friends! โค๏ธ

Real Life

Let’s be real.

One of our suitcases sits still unpacked on the living room floor, mocking me and my laziness. (To be fair, we’ve had some kind of event or party pretty much every day since getting home.)

My appetite has definitely returned, and I polished off three bags of Famous Amos cookies in one afternoon this week. And PANCAKES are back in my regular routine again! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

I’ve had random fits of uncontrollable, hormonal tears ever since finding out it’s a girl and not the boy I thought it was. (We love her, I promise. ๐Ÿ˜œย Haha.) Mamas who’ve been there, ease my guilt and give me your wisdom! Lol.

Andrew has done WAY more laundry, dishes, and housework than me the past three months. He also brings me orange juiceย (or chocolate milk) and my prenatal vitamin in bed every morning because he’s a rockstar husband. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

My belly is at that stage where strangers have to stare for a second and wonder if I’m pregnant or just tubby. Some days I think about wearing a pin that says, “I’m pregnant. Please feed me or give me free things.”

There are roughly 10,000 photos on my computer that need to be edited in the next month. ๐Ÿ˜ฌย Is it October yet??

The day after we got back from Hawaii, I slept until 11:00 AND took a nap at 3:00.

The employees at Johnny Carino’s all know me now, and when I called after getting home from our trip, the curbside guy answered, “Back from your vacation??”

ย I re-gifted a gift card without checking the back to see if it had my name on it because pregnancy brain is real.ย ๐Ÿ™ƒ

ย We are already planning a family trip to Disney World for late 2018, and we’re forcing our parents to come so they can hold baby while we ride Space Mountain. ๐Ÿ˜‰ย I have a feeling Annie’s really going to connect with Animal Kingdom.

I had a dream earlier this week that I was searching for a lost narwhal with Tim Allen. ๐Ÿค”

My decision-making ability of what to purchase and what to put back at TJ Maxx requires an absurd amount of time – like 20 minutes worth of holding things in my hand and staring at them until I can decide.

My go-to mode used to be researching and planning things like a madwoman, but lately it’s been “eh, I’ll figure it out.” I have got to find motivation to read a parenting book or something!

I wish I was still here and not blogging quickly before heading in to work. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Great book by the way.

I’ll post more Hawaii pics and catch up on everything when I have a little more time. ๐Ÿ˜Šย Happy Wednesday, friends!
