Making Money with Swagbucks

There are a million sites out there promising you free gift cards or easy money – if you’ll just sign over all your free time, give them a credit card and an ounce of blood, or agree to receive junk mail every day for the rest of your life. I was pretty excited to find a legitimate site that isn’t crazy annoying or difficult to use. And they let you update your email preferences so you don’t get much pestering. ;) I’m a big fan of Swagbucks! Here are the fastest ways I add up my points.

-Watch Sponsored Videos

This is the number one way I earn points. It’s super easy to use and adds up without much trouble. Click on “Watch” and you’ll see a tab called “nCrave.” They usually have a few different videos you can run to earn points, or sometimes they’ll have an activity called “All You Can Eat SB.” Both are easy to run without paying attention. We have two laptops and a desktop computer, so I’ll run Swagbucks on one of the laptops while I’m working at my desktop or when we’re watching a movie. Andrew also has an account, so sometimes I’ll run the videos on BOTH laptops. Some of the activities keep running even while you do other things on the screen, so all you have to do is mute your volume and rack up the points. You can even move the windows down and open another window to work on something else. Easy.

Clicking on nCrave will give you some easy activities to earn points. Just make sure you choose one with the little blue play & circle icon in the bottom left corner – that means you can click on “auto-discover” so the ad videos play by themselves. Sponsored videos are another easy way to earn points, but sometimes they require more clicking. The “All the SB You Can Eat” activity requires no clicking (or paying attention) though.

-Search bar

Yes, Google is the best search engine there is, but if you make your default search bar Swagbucks, they randomly give you points. (I usually do a couple searches a day anyway, and if I need more relevant info, Google.com is always there after I search and collect my Swagbucks.)

-Surveys

This is a good way to earn points when you are really bored and have nothing to do. (So no, I don’t get the chance to do these often haha.) You can choose a survey based on the time it takes and the points it’ll give you. Sometimes you don’t qualify for certain surveys, but they’ll give you a consolation point if so. You can find surveys under the “Answer” tab on the left.

-Swag Codes and Polls

Swagbucks randomly does “Swag Codes” throughout the day for anywhere from 2 to 5 points, and all you have to do is type in the code they give you in the Swag Code box. They’ll announce them on Facebook or run a banner at the top of your page letting you know how and when to cash in codes. Another easy point is the Daily Poll. That’s usually the first thing I do when I open Swagbucks because it’s an easy point every day that takes two seconds.

Here’s today’s poll. I voted for The Flinstones, and now that song has been stuck in my head all morning. 🙄

-Shopping online

If you’re a big online shopper, you’ll get rewarded just by hitting “Activate Shop & Earn” before you make your purchases at certain online stores. I did this a lot with Christmas presents. It adds up fast if you’re a big online shopper!

-Refer your friends

When your friend joins Swagbucks, you get 10% of their points for life. Sneaky wife tip: sign up your spouse even if they won’t use it. I signed up Andrew even though I really am doing all the Swagbuck work on his laptop, and I get all the referral points. ;)

It takes a little time, but the effort is pretty minimal once you get in the groove of it. 2500 “SB” is good for a $25 gift card, and they have dozens of options. And if they don’t have a gift card you want, here’s another trick – buy the Visa gift card and purchase a gift card you want with that gift card. ;) We did that when we went to Disney World and ended up paying for half our trip that way.

There are several other ways to earn points, but those are the ones I’ve found to be fastest for the least amount of effort. Any other Swagbuck users have more tips?? I’d love to hear!

Current Obsessions

1. Milk chocolate Cadbury bars.

Cadbury has taken over Reese’s, Hershey’s, and all other chocolates I have previously been obsessed with, although I’m currently about 5 pounds away from letting myself have any. The struggle is real.

2. Goldfish.

The love affair continues. I’m also keeping myself from these until my weight is under control, because I’m incapable of eating a normal serving size. I can polish off a bag in minutes.

3. Andy’s Frozen Custard.

Facebook comments tell me the Andy’s on Penn and 150th is due to open in February. I AM SO EXCITED. Do yourself a favor and get a Reese’s concrete with a hot fudge jackhammer. (Yeah, half of these are totally food-related. Judge me.)

4. Parmesan-crusted chicken from Longhorn Steakhouse.

Andrew and I spent a good portion of our first year of marriage eating at Longhorn Steakhouse. I got the same thing every time – the renegade sirloin with a salad and baked potato. It was divine, but soon we became devoted to Cheesecake Factory. When I lunched at Longhorn with Alyssa a few months ago, we decided to shake things up and split the parmesan crusted chicken. My life was forever changed. The flavor is FAB. It has now dethroned Cheesecake Factory; that’s how serious I am about it. Go forth and feast.

5. Swagbucks.

I’ve been using Swagbucks for over a year now, and it is still hands down the easiest way in the world to make extra money (that I’ve discovered so far lol). I’ll do a full post soon on the quickest way to earn points and gift cards!

6. This Is Us.

I have long hated TV for its tendency to be so full of filth and ridiculousness, but I’m in love with this show. It is the most well-written, emotion-filled series I’ve ever seen. If you haven’t watched it yet, you can catch up online I believe. Just make sure you have a box of tissues.

7. Chick-fil-A.

Guys. I’ve had a religious awakening. I lived most of my life thinking that Chick-fil-A’s nuggets were too sweet and not worth the calories. That is, until about two months ago. My work bestie in her great generosity brought us chicken nuggets for lunch, and I went back for seconds. Then thirds. And now I’m broke because I’m eating there all the time, but it’s worth it.

8. These Tombow markers Alyssa got me for Christmas.

I. Love. Them.

9. These super cheap Pentel Fude brush pens.

Judge not my lettering – I’m just beginning to practice. ;)

10. Monk.

Andrew and I have been making our way through the entire series of Monk, and we’re about a season and a half away from finishing. We LOVE Tony Shaloub. He is brilliant, and the show is hysterical. (If you are remotely OCD, you’ll love it.)

What are you currently obsessed with these days?

Coming at Ya, 2017

Can you guys handle the fact that I’m a professional photographer that only took iPhone pictures for this blog post? I’m currently embracing the lazy side because it’s been so long since I’ve had the pleasure of being lazy. ;)

Say hello to my labor of love, the third homemade planner I’ve slaved over to feed my unrealistic expectations when it comes to picking a planner. She’s a beaut.

Don’t worry. I won’t include all 96 pages. 😉

This year I thought it would be fun to include a month tracker and a mission board before every monthly spread. Since these planners are ginormous and really kind of a memory keepsake, I thought a little list of what’s happening that month would be fun to look back on later.

Yes. That black, whiskery blob is my dog’s nose.

I also made a companion book for all the pages I couldn’t fit in the planner. ;) I don’t have real pictures, but here’s the gist of what’s included.

I like the year-at-a-glance pages; they help me prepare for each month better.

I usually print the adventure and feast bucket lists out for our fridge, but I put them in the book so my fridge would be less cluttered this year.

I’m already in love with these new gratitude pages. 💕

I also made a “doodle” section full of blank card stock because I’m in love with my new Tombow markers Alyssa got me for Christmas!

Any other obsessive planner-makers out there? Truth be told, I’m considering just buying one next year if I can find the courage. 🙈 What are your favorite planners?

Happy Tuesday! 😘
